When I first met up with Poppy & Ben on the day of their engagement session, we also talked about their English countryside wedding. I instantly knew it will blow my mind away! It sounded like perfection and I can tell you that it didn’t disappoint – AT ALL. Their wedding was complete with their friends and family at the groom’s parents’ property. With a true love for a classic affair, these two also opted for a romantic whimsical English countryside wedding. When I hopped into my car at the end of the wedding day I felt full to the brim with love, fun, giggles and joy. It was such a special day and was a privilege to photograph. P & B had the most beautiful English countryside marquee wedding celebration.
At the end of May, I found myself in the beautiful Castle Ashby, a stunning village in Northamptonshire. I started the day with Poppy and her girls getting ready at a stunning cottage of The Falcon Hotel in Castle Ashby. I felt so welcomed! Poppy quietly and gracefully got ready and looked a picture of perfection when she stepped into her gown.
As the girls slowly arrived in cars along the gravel driveway, an excitement came over the group. And what a beautiful ceremony! The church wedding ceremony at St Mary Magdalene Church was just perfect! It was emotional and full of love too.
After the ceremony guests were treated to a champagne and canapé reception and I was able to photograph these wonderful families in stunning surrounding. Finally guests were called in for the wedding breakfast which was in a truly incredible marquee overlooking the crop fields. After a delicious meal we were treated to an incredible series of speeches. Loved how the beautiful and romantic candle lit atmosphere filled the marquee during the evening.
After cake cutting it was time for opening the dance floor and fireworks and as guests enjoyed their time in the fullest I knew this wedding was a special place to be. The night ended dancing under the stars with a warm spring breeze as their closest friends and family showered them with love and celebration.
Lastly I would like to say – Poppy and Ben you are both amazing. Without doubt the hospitality you and your family showed me was amazing and I consider it a huge privilege to have been able to photograph such a wonderful day.
